For me the most important thing is that those I work with feel safe, cared for, and understood. I seek to provide a comfortable nonjudgmental space.
My hope is that my clients gain greater awareness of who they are, what they want, and how to get there. I see therapy as a collaborative process of discovery and it is the therapeutic relationship itself that is the most important aspect of change.
I focus a lot on self-awareness and self-acceptance which are both essential to change. We all think, feel, and act in ways, even if we want to change them, for a reason. I like to reframe "problems" as "clues" which which guide us towards healing.
I have always had a genuine interest in people and how we all make sense of our world. I enjoy working with all types of people and presenting problems. I have a particular interest in ADHD, Anxiety disorders, and relationship conflict.
What lead me to the field was most likely my own desire to understand myself and to "fix" what I now know to be undiagnosed ADHD and anxiety.
I have taken the time to create a very beautiful, safe, and cozy space which I believe helps to enhance the therapy process.
Growing Awareness comes from a switch in my thinking that changed my life. My entire life I believed if I learned enough about myself I could "fix" myself, but with time I have found that growing awareness is about realizing you are not broken.
